We all want to look like Jack Reacher. In fact, I’m pretty sure 99% of the population wants to actually be Jack Reacher.

Sure, we may not have the crazy physique or the “badassness”, But We do have a little thing in common with the Big Dog, Our love of candy.

Jack Reacher’s Favourite Candy bar is the “Clark Bar”. Its Appeal likely stems from it’s Availability throughout the many Countries and military Bases Jack Reacher has spent time in.

Well that’s it, Jack Reacher is human after all! he likes candy! he may not have the best taste, but at least it’s not all “chicken, rice and broccoli.”

What Is a Clark Bar?

If Jack Reacher likes them they have to be good right? So I’m sure you’re wondering what actually is a Clark Bar?

Pretty much a Clarke bar is a peanut butter and Taffy core coated in milk Chocolate. According to people online, they are “okay” but “nothing special” but what’s really important is that they have been around forever (since 1917.) So at this point they are pretty much a Staple of American Culture.

Why does Reacher like this “mid” snack?

Well to be honest I cant really tell you why, did Lee Child pick a random candy bar?, or did he give it incredible thought? I guess you’ll have to ask him.

One thing I did see ,on reddit of all places, was how Reacher’s affinity for the bar may stem from it’s Staple in the American Culture. Okay so it was on reddit so maybe not that pretentious, but think about it, Reacher grew up in Military bases across the world, and when he was an adult he spent more time moving around across the Country with the 110th.

Moving a lot must suck, I mean everything changes, all the time. So anyone would form a bond with the few Constants in an ever revolving world. What would one of these Constants be? The Clark bar! Sure it could’ve been Hershey, but at that point it is just down to personal preference.
